A full online school day for the kid who's always making something: code, contraptions, LEGO machines, game worlds. Core academics run mastery-based, so math moves as fast as they do, and the rest of the day is classes and challenges with something to show at the end. ESA and state funding can cover up to full tuition for qualifying families.
What a conventional classroom does with a builder.
Most schools have one lane for a kid like this: sit through grade-level pacing and save the real projects for home.
Builder kids are often two grades ahead in math and bored stiff, while a subject they care less about drags. A one-speed classroom serves neither.
A worksheet about circuits for the kid who wires real ones at home. Forty minutes of STEM time a week, hot glue and popsicle sticks, then back to the packet.
Code editors, game engines, CAD: at most schools these are distractions to lock down. The thing your kid is best at doesn't count for anything.

Core academics stay compact and self-paced. The rest of the day is built for making.
Core subjects run mastery-based: your child advances the moment they've mastered the material, with 1:1 support when a topic bites back. A kid who's ready for algebra in 5th grade does algebra in 5th grade.
Live electives in small groups of 5 to 10: coding, game design, hands-on science and engineering. Three a week are included, picked by your kid.
Community challenges run all year: build a playable puzzle game, turn raw resources into an automated production line, design an original LEGO character. Work sessions drop into the week wherever they fit.
Challenges and personal projects build toward a year-end capstone: the game, the robot, the invention they've been explaining at dinner for months.

The loneliest part of being a builder kid is having nobody to show. At Recess the audience is built in.
Supervised time with the wider Recess community every school day: games, conversation, and other kids' projects.
Kids post what they make and the community responds. One long-running challenge is simply to ship a project that other kids like.
Interest-led clubs meet weekly, and plenty of classes run inside the games kids already love, Minecraft and Dungeons & Dragons included.
All of this holds for young artists, filmmakers, and musicians too; only the tools change.
