Still not sure? Email [email protected].

What is an ESA or charter school allotment?

An Education Savings Account (ESA) is a state-funded account that lets you use public education dollars for approved learning experiences outside of a traditional school, like tutoring, online classes, and enrichment programs. Many public charter and hybrid schools offer something similar called a stipend or allotment. Both put education funding directly in your hands.

Can I use my education funds at Recess?

Yes! Recess is an approved vendor with a growing number of state ESA programs and charter schools. Check our partner list above to see if your program is already included. If you don't see yours, email us at [email protected].

How do payments work?

Payments depend on your program. Some accounts reimburse you after purchase; others pay approved vendors directly through marketplace platforms like ClassWallet or Odyssey. Some require a request through your Education Specialist. Check with your program coordinator to find out which method applies to you.

What Recess programs can I use my funds for?

ESA and charter funds are typically approved for tutoring, enrichment courses, and online educational programs, all of which Recess offers. Eligible options may include live classes, 1:1 tutoring sessions, and social programming depending on your program's guidelines.

My state or school isn't on the partner list, now what?

We're actively expanding our approvals. Email us at [email protected] and we'll be happy to work with you to get us included as a vendor with your school or state.
