The Drama Playground
What you’ll do: Step into the Drama Playground, a vibrant space where creativity, confidence, and connection take center stage! Through engaging drama games, imaginative role-play, and fun public speaking challenges, you’ll explore your expressive side while building essential life skills. Get ready to laugh, perform, and discover your inner storyteller in this exciting and fun course!
Each week you will:
- Dive into a mix of interactive drama games designed to spark creativity and teamwork.
- Role-playing as different characters to develop quick thinking and character-building skills.
- Participate in fun public speaking activities that help build confidence in any setting.
- Collaborate with peers in mini-performances to bring your ideas to life.
- Have the chance to join live showcase events and share your talent with family and friends.
Concepts encountered: This course combines creativity with practical skill-building to ensure an educational and enriching experience.
Key concepts include:
- Improvisation: Thinking on your feet and adapting to new ideas.
- Character Development: Understanding emotions, perspectives, and storytelling as different characters.
- Public Speaking: Gaining confidence in articulation, projection, and presence.

What You'll Need: A quiet space to participate in virtual sessions. A stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. A willingness to be playful, imaginative, and open to new challenges!
Please note that each cohort needs minimum of 4 kids to open.

This month our theme is Magic & Mischief, and we spent this week creating our new world (and characters) to explore in! Then we developed our characters by putting them in role with some challenges to solve, and working together to brainstorm solutions and act them out.

After imagining us as aliens yesterday in The Drama Playground, and thinking in role about what we might ask aliens if we could interview them (and how the aliens would respond) these were the final alien poses. Great galactic work team! See you next week 👽️

Today we learned about earthquakes and the Richter scale by imagining 'before' and 'after' damage to objects, and bringing them to life using our bodies and facial expressions!
