Recess Teen Squads are all about fun, depth, and friendship. You’ll join a tight-knit group of other teens to explore your favorite games, collaborate on challenges, and grow as a team over multiple sessions. Every meeting is a chance to laugh, strategize, and build something awesome with friends your age.

Whether you're looking for consistent gameplay with the same group or eager to try out something new, there's a spot for you.

Check the cohort before you join to make sure you have the appropriate tech set up. Squads that are playing games through Steam will require a free steam account before joining

What You'll Do:

• Make new friends in a low-pressure, teen-only space
• Stick with one game for multiple sessions to go deeper as a team OR decide you want to test out new games before you settle in. Meet other teens who love the same games you do
• Tackle fun challenges together and create memorable moments
• Reflect and improve how you play and collaborate
• Get support from a Recess guide to help you become a stronger communicator and teammate

What You'll Need:

• Ability to join sessions on gather.town (The Recess Virtual Universe)
• A working camera and microphone
• Access to the game your squad is playing. Most games are on Steam. Reach out if you need help downloading or setting up an account

Specific Squad Selection

Teen Squads change games every few weeks, and the options are always evolving based on what teens love to play. When registering, you can list your preferences or join any open Teen Squad. The squad name will be updated based on the current game they are playing.
