MAKE SOME NOISE

Learn Music By Programming It

Organized by Jippity

Hosted by 1 expert guide

Lest you think that computer programming is just for nerds, accountants, and grumpy adults, dive into another side of the computer. The artistic side — the heart of the computer.

It is time to make music. With the computer. The greatest of all musical tools — greater than even the piano — if wielded in the right hands.

This course will serve as an introduction to the big ideas of music but without instruments or sheet music. We are going to break these ideas down with math and code. No experience required — brand-new musicians, including those who have never touched an instrument, are welcome. The tiniest bit of familiarity with code will help but you do not need to be an expert coder.

We will meet twice a week for four weeks, tackling three on-rails projects that break down the fundaments of sound, time, and pitch, and then build custom final projects in week four.

Reach out to [email protected] with any questions about scheduling, content, fit, or anything else.

Rock on.
