Foundations of Science - Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, and more
Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Neuroscience and so on - How are they related? It's simple. Build a structure of science that lasts a lifetime.
Hosted by 1 expert guide
What is science? Whether you're artsy or sciency, you don't need to master math to be curious about the world around us.
Discover how science connects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology, Math, and more in engaging sessions!
Join us for a course that simplifies how we view science. Together, we'll reveal the hidden connections between areas of science that seem to be completely unrelated.
Inspired by Richard Feynman’s wisdom — “If our small minds divide the Universe into parts, remember that nature does not know it!”
This course will help build up a framework of how to see the world and show how science is integrated into almost every part of the world around us. We simplify complex topics and give a useful framework for future learning.
Month 1: How Math creates Physics and how Engineering creates what we use.
Month 2: How Chemistry creates Biology and how life builds how we think.
Month 3 & beyond: The course will diverge into science topics driven by the students.
Expect engaging stories, head scratching questions, and a fresh perspective on what science really is.
By the way, I'm Blaine! I'm an engineer and builder of electronics and mechanical systems. I was a professional aerospace mechanic in the Air Force, former research scientists, and Neuro-engineer. I currently teach a few different classes at Recess, like "Build a Base on Mars: Engineering Simulation" and more.
Our course is ideal for both artistic and scientific minds, sparking curiosity for everyone to see the world like new!

In our recent session, we played some games building atoms and molecules! We have worked our way up into Chemistry and took time to explore curiosities about Chemistry in space.
What are Suns/Stars made of?
Where did planets get there matter?
Where did the dirt on Earth even ...

Today we played a Game and took a step back into the Physics of an atom to see what atoms are made of and how to find what we're looking for in the Periodic Table!
If we are made of Atoms, then what even are Atoms made of anyway? How curious...

Today we built on our growing understanding of how Math relates to Physics and how Physics relates to Chemistry.
And today was awesome! We dove into ideas like what are atoms, elements, and molecules. Here's a short recap of things we explored and wondered about:
