Welcome to the Animation Club!

The Animation Club is a creative and inspiring space where students can dive into the exciting world of animation while connecting with peers who share their passion for animated shows, movies, animators, and studios. Whether you're a budding artist or a curious beginner, this club offers a supportive environment to explore, learn, and grow.

What We Do

In the Animation Club, students will:

  • Learn Animation Skills: Engage in hands-on activities, from storyboarding to creating short animations using various techniques and tools.
  • Explore Animation Appreciation: Discuss and analyze favorite shows, episodes, animators, and fandoms, going beyond the surface to understand the art and storytelling.
  • Share Creations: Showcase their original art and animations, as well as creations from surrounding fandoms, to inspire and educate one another.
  • Discover Tools and Techniques: Get introduced to different animation software and styles, building technical and creative skills along the way.

Our Mission

Our goal is to celebrate and deepen the appreciation of animation as an art form. By uncovering the creativity and cultural richness behind animated works, we aim to spark inspiration, foster learning, and bring ideas to life.

Why Join the Animation Club?

  • Inclusive and Open to All: No experience is required, and students of all ages and skill levels are welcome!
  • Creative Expression: Animation is one of the most dynamic and fun ways to share ideas and tell stories.
  • Building Friendships: Meet like-minded peers who love animation as much as you do.

Learning Goals

  • Spark Creativity: Gain inspiration for future projects and personal growth.
  • Master Techniques: Explore various animation tools, software, and styles to create art.
  • Foster Appreciation: Learn to view animation as a meaningful art form, enriching cultural and artistic understanding.
  • Broaden Horizons: Increase awareness of different cultures and creative practices through animation.
  • Build Connections: Form lasting friendships in a welcoming, collaborative community.

Additional Note Animation is heavily reliant on drawing — often creating many frames one after another to bring movement to life. While not mandatory, having a drawing tablet or an iPad with a stylus can make the process much smoother and more enjoyable. Drawing with a mouse is possible but can be challenging, even for experienced animators.
