I'm Svet, and this summer I'm running an animation camp on Recess. Over 6 sessions across 2 weeks, your kid will go through the same pipeline professional animators use to make a short film from scratch. Story, roughs, cleanup, and color. By the end they'll have a finished animated short they made themselves.

This isn't a "learn to draw" class. This is a filmmaking camp. Your kid will come in with an idea and leave with a movie.

What Your Kid Will Do

Each session builds on the last, following a real animation production pipeline:

1. Storyboarding Your kid comes up with their story and maps it out scene by scene. This is where the idea becomes a plan.
2. Rough Animation They start bringing the storyboard to life with rough drawings and movement. This is where the characters start moving.
3. Cleanup They refine their rough animation into clean, polished frames. This is where it starts looking real.
4. Color and Finishing They add color, backgrounds, and final touches. This is where it all comes together.
5. Polish and Sound Final adjustments, timing, and any finishing touches to bring it all together.
6. Final Film They walk away with a completed short film they can show anyone.

What They'll Need

This camp moves fast, so your kid needs to come prepared. These are requirements, not suggestions.

• A pressure-sensitive drawing tablet (Wacom, iPad, or similar)
• Animation software already installed (FlipaClip, Rough Animator, Krita, Procreate Dreams, or any animation app they're comfortable with)
• Basic drawing comfort Your kid doesn't need to be an expert, but they should be comfortable drawing so we can focus entirely on movement and storytelling. They should also be familiar with their animation app before the camp starts.

How It Works

• 6 sessions over 2 weeks (3 days per week)
• Ages 8 to 14
• Small groups so your kid gets real feedback on their work
• Daily feedback You'll get a personal message from me after day one and a wrap-up at the end about your kid's progress and creativity
