Advanced Physics

From force to work, to Newton's Laws, through simulations and mathematical reasoning we can all become physicists!

Physics
Organized by Hannah Morgan

Hosted by 1 expert guide

⭐ Through collaboration and dedicated hard work, you too can be a Physicist! ⭐

What You'll Do

  • Learn about important physical concepts

  • Learn how to mathematically represent and algebraically manipulate each of them

  • Simulate these concepts on online simulators PhET and Simbucket

  • Apply them to real world concepts

Concepts Encountered

  • Kinematics (displacement, speed, velocity, acceleration)
  • Kinematics in 2D
  • Forces (Newton's three laws)
  • Work and Energy

What You'll Need

  1. Access to a computer, a mouse and keyboard, stable internet connection, and a working webcam and microphone.
  2. Solid algebraic understanding (manipulating functions, systems of linear equations, exponents, graphing, etc). This will be a big part of the class so it is important that you can do this mathematical reasoning. But if you do not yet know these and feel confident you can catch on to them quickly, that works too!
  3. A Zoom account.

❗ The math in this course may be challenging, but understanding it will offer a whole new lens on how the world works! ❗
