Using renowned Phillips Exeter Academy’s 9th-grade Algebra curriculum, students begin by diving straight into carefully crafted, real-world problems—figuring things out for themselves first, rather than passively receiving instruction.

This Problem-First approach allows students to think like mathematicians:

✅ Inquiry-driven learning – Students approach problems in ways that make sense to them, discovering algebraic principles through exploration and discussion.

Along the way, students learn not just how to solve problems, but also how to present solutions, defend their reasoning, and engage in meaningful mathematical conversations. This class is for curious students who love a challenge and enjoy figuring things out for themselves. If your child prefers step-by-step instruction followed by repetitive practice, this is not the right fit.

💡 Designed as a weekly enrichment course, this small-group cohort (max 8 students) strengthens any student’s mathematical reasoning, fostering their ability to think more deeply, problem-solve more effectively, and communicate their ideas with confidence.
