Acrylic Painting
Inside of everyone is an artist. My goal is to help your kid make something they're proud of.
Hosted by 1 expert guide
I'm Bridget, and I'm running an acrylic painting camp this summer on Recess. Over 5 days your kid will complete a full painting every single session. Not follow-along copies of what I'm painting. Real, original pieces that come from them.
Your kid will learn color mixing, brushwork, and composition. By the end of the week they'll have a portfolio of 5 finished paintings and the confidence that they can make something worth hanging up.
What Your Kid Will Do
Each day we work through a painting in three stages. In between stages while the paint dries, we play art games like Gartic Phone and Draw Battle to keep things fun and loose. Every session has a rhythm: learn something new, put paint on canvas, play a game, go back in and finish.
I believe every kid has something interesting they can share through art. I want to give them the space and the skills to make something that's really theirs.
What They'll Need
- Acrylic paint set (basic colors: red, blue, yellow, white, black at minimum)
- A few brushes (variety of sizes)
- Canvas or thick paper/canvas pad
- Palette or paper plate for mixing
- Cup of water and paper towels
How It Works
- 5 straight days of live 2 hour sessions
- Ages 8 to 14
- Small groups so your kid gets real feedback on their work
- Daily feedback I'll send you a personal message after day one and a wrap-up at the end about your kid's creativity and growth
About Me
I'm a multimedia artist with 3 years of experience showing in galleries. I teach Art & Design on Recess during the school year. A few years ago I taught my god daughter how to draw using oil pastels and watching her explore making art made me realize I wanted to share my love of art with more people. That's what this camp is about.
I can't wait to see what your kid creates.
