Storytelling

Never played before? No problem — your kid will learn everything they need as they play. D&D isn't just a game: it's teamwork, creative problem-solving, public speaking, and quick thinking without it ever feeling like a lesson. Small groups and guided storytelling mean every kid gets a role and a voice.

What your kid will do

The exact arc of camp, session by session.

  1. Welcome to the Guild

Meet the Game Master and the party. Pick a character, learn their backstory, get the basics of the game.

  2. Into the Wilds

Navigate tough terrain, face first combat, encounter creatures — and figure out teamwork under pressure.

  3. Secrets of the Realms

Explore ancient ruins, solve puzzles, interact with mystical artifacts.

  4. Trials of Valor and Wit

Bigger combat, deeper role-play, and strategy that actually matters.

  5. The Epic Conclusion

Final showdown. Everything they've learned, one unforgettable battle.

What your kid will need

  • A computer with a working microphone and camera

How camp actually works

Small groups

4–6 kids per cohort. Every kid gets seen, heard, and helped by their guide.

Live, not recorded

Real-time sessions with a real instructor. Not a course your kid will abandon on day two.

Updates sent home

You'll get a personal message after day one about how your kid showed up and what they're making, plus a wrap-up at the end.

The outcomes are the proof

What actually happens when kids do a Recess camp.

Every camper

Leaves with something they built

Not a certificate. A real project — a game, a painting, a film, a rocket, a circuit — that they can show off.

Every cohort

Kids walk away with real friends

4–6 kids per cohort means they actually get to know each other. Most campers come back because they want to see the same crew.

Every parent

Hears from a real human, not a form

Your kid's guide writes you personally after day one and at the end of camp. You'll know exactly how your kid showed up and what they made.

After camp ends

Most kids keep going

Camp unlocks their Recess account. If they loved it, there's a year-round community of clubs and projects waiting. No pressure, no auto-charges.

Parents love Recess

We've got receipts.
