Coding

Vibe coding is a new way to build software: you describe what you want and AI tools help you write the code. Your kid doesn't need to know how to code — they need to know what they want to build.

Meet the guides

What your kid will do

The exact arc of camp, session by session.

  1. Set up their tools

Your kid gets their dev environment ready and learns how AI coding tools like Claude Code and Codex actually work. By the end of the first session they're already building.

  2. Brainstorm and plan

Platformer? Puzzle game? Clicker? They pick a game idea that excites them and map out what it takes to build.

  3. Build and iterate

Your kid goes back and forth with the AI, testing, fixing, and improving their game — the real loop pro developers live in.

  4. Ship it

They finish their game and walk away with a shareable link they can send to anyone.

What your kid will need

  • A computer (Mac, Windows, or Linux — no Chromebooks or tablets)

How camp actually works

Small groups

4–6 kids per cohort. Every kid gets seen, heard, and helped by their guide.

Live, not recorded

Real-time sessions with a real instructor. Not a course your kid will abandon on day two.

Updates sent home

You'll get a personal message after day one about how your kid showed up and what they're making, plus a wrap-up at the end.

The outcomes are the proof

What actually happens when kids do a Recess camp.

Every camper

Leaves with something they built

Not a certificate. A real project — a game, a painting, a film, a rocket, a circuit — that they can show off.

Every cohort

Kids walk away with real friends

4–6 kids per cohort means they actually get to know each other. Most campers come back because they want to see the same crew.

Every parent

Hears from a real human, not a form

Your kid's guide writes you personally after day one and at the end of camp. You'll know exactly how your kid showed up and what they made.

After camp ends

Most kids keep going

Camp unlocks their Recess account. If they loved it, there's a year-round community of clubs and projects waiting. No pressure, no auto-charges.
